U-M Secures State Budget Boost for Education and Economic Development
The Michigan Legislature has passed the 2024-25 budget, increasing funding for the University of Michigan's operations, economic development, and firearm injury prevention. The budget includes a $365.6 million appropriation for the Ann Arbor campus and significant investments in financial aid and innovation programs, such as $60 million for the Michigan Innovation Fund and $5.5 million for the Institute for Firearm Injury Prevention. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is expected to sign the budget later this summer.
