U-M Receives $10 Million Grant to Launch New Center for Infectious Disease Research
The University of Michigan (U-M) has been awarded a $10 million grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to establish the Michigan Infectious Disease Genomics Center (MIDGE). This new center will focus on understanding how genetic variations affect the behavior, transmission, and drug resistance of infectious pathogens. Researchers will use this knowledge to develop better methods to prevent and treat infectious diseases.
