U-M Receives $6.7 Million Grant to Study Flu Immunity in Children
The University of Michigan has been awarded a $6.7 million grant to study how a child's first exposure to influenza, through infection or vaccination, shapes their immune response to future flu viruses.
Led by infectious disease researcher Aubree Gordon, the five-year project will closely follow the immune responses of up to 850 infants in Ann Arbor from infancy through childhood. Researchers aim to understand how these early exposures influence long-term immunity and inform the development of next-generation flu vaccines. Read More.
